FAQ

What is the Tech App Booth Competition?

It’s a hands-on exhibition where you create and showcase your idea of an AI-powered app or technology used to learn English, on the theme of sustainability.

Do I need to know coding to join?

Not necessarily—your focus is on the concept, problem-solving, and presentation. You can use existing AI platforms to develop your idea.

How will it be judged?

Judges will look at creativity, real-world application, sustainability impact, and how clearly you present your idea in English.

Do I need to link my project to an SDG?

Not necessarily! However, projects that immerse one or more UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will stand out, especially in areas like clean energy, quality education, or climate action.

Do the students need to prepare a pitch based only on the app concept (such as its design, benefits, usage, and visuals)?

Yes. Students are expected to pitch on the apt concept - design, uses and highlight the benefits. The primary focus of the design is to communicate the core concept or idea behind the app and its functionality.

Should the app be related to teaching English topics such as tenses, grammar, or vocabulary?

Yes, the app should mainly be related to teaching English or assisting in learning English language and its components with regard to the theme sustainable habits: then, now and future.

During the exhibition, are the students required to present the actual product, or just the concept/idea of the app?

The competition is primarily about presenting the overarching concept or idea of the app, without needing a fully developed prototype or implementation. Marks are not given for displaying the product. - Usage of visuals is highly encouraged.
